President Trump Can’t Stop Losing And This Time Its Chris Christie

During the 2016 primaries, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, endured constant humiliation at the hands of Donald Trump, he campaigned for Trump during the generals only to end up with no cabinet position and covid-19 in 2020 however, on Sunday, it seems that the President has finally lost a supporter in Christie when the former governor called President Trump’s legal team “a national embarrassment” on Sunday.

Christie said on ABC’s “This Week” that it was time for Trump to concede, adding to pressure building from members of the GOP to begin recognizing President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.

Host George Stephanopoulos pointed out that Trump’s legal team had lost 34 court cases and that Trump had attacked Senator Pat Toomey for calling on the president on Saturday to recognize the results of the election.

“Is it finally time for this end?” Stephanopoulos asked.

“Yes,” Christie responded. “The president has had an opportunity to access the courts. And I said to you, you know, George, starting at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning, if you’ve got the evidence of fraud, present it. And what’s happened here is, quite frankly, the conduct of the president’s legal team has been a national embarrassment.”

“Sidney Powell accusing [Georgia] Governor Brian Kemp of a crime on television yet being unwilling to go on TV and defend and lay out the evidence that she supposedly has. This is outrageous conduct by any lawyer, and notice, George, they won’t do it inside the courtroom,” said Christie, a former federal prosecutor. “They allege fraud outside the courtroom, but when they go inside the courtroom, they don’t plead fraud, and they don’t argue fraud.”

“I’ve been a supporter of the president. I voted for him twice. But elections have consequences, and we cannot continue to act as if something happened here that didn’t happen. You have an obligation to present the evidence. The evidence has not been presented,” Christie added.

“I said it on election night, and I hope more say it going forward because the country is what has to matter the most, as much as I’m a strong Republican and I love my party,” Christie said. “It’s the country that has to come first.”

Promptly followed by the Trump campaign seeking to distance itself from attorney Sidney Powell after she made a series of increasingly convoluted and baseless allegations of widespread nationwide election fraud.

Powell, also the attorney for former national security adviser Michael Flynn, appeared with campaign lawyers at press events as recently as last week.

In a statement released Sunday afternoon, President Trump‘s lead attorney Rudy Giuliani and senior legal adviser Jenna Ellis said that Powell “is not a member of the Trump Legal Team.”

“She is also not a lawyer for the President in his personal capacity,” stated the former New York City mayor.

Powell appeared with Giuliani and other members of the campaign’s legal team at various press conferences over the past month — including one on Thursday — detailing the campaign’s so far unsuccessful efforts to halt or overturn the certification of election results in several key battleground states that were called by media outlets for President-elect Joe Biden.

Trump himself also referred to Powell as a member of his legal team in tweets as recently as Novembor 14.

A request for comment from the Trump campaign regarding when Powell’s relationship with the campaign ended or what prompted her exit was not immediately returned.
