Joe Biden Gets Endorsed For President In 2020 Election

Hillary Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee in 2016, endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden for president.

At a virtual town hall with Biden, Hillary said, “I am thrilled to be a part of your campaign to not only endorse you but to help highlight a lot of the issues that are at stake in this presidential election.”

Former President Barack Obama also endorsed Biden for president.

Clinton, who was secretary of State during former President Barack Obama’s term, was the first woman ever to get a major party’s presidential nomination, and she is now the latest political heavyweight to endorse Biden.

She teased her endorsement in a tweet declaring her attendance at Biden’s virtual town hall on Tuesday. She discussed the effect of the coronavirus on women.

Biden, the sole Democratic nominee, gladly accepted her endorsement in a tweet. He tweeted, “I’m with her,” using the signature phrase that Clinton had popularized during her 2016 election campaign.

Biden has built an almost unbeatable lead in pledged delegates after several important wins.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, who stood against Clinton in the 2016 presidential primary, also supported Biden for president after he stepped out of the presidential race on April 8th. Sanders, the very last Democratic candidate to oppose Biden, asked his followers to vote for him in the following primaries so he could get enough delegates to influence the party platform at the Democratic National Convention, scheduled to be conducted in August.
