Trump Blames China Again, Says – “Beijing Wants Me To Lose My Re-Election Bid In November”

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump was once again found blaming China for jeopardizing his possibilities of re-election as the country’s president in November. Trump said that Beijing “will do anything they can” to make him lose his re-election bid.

In an interview given to Reuters, Trump looked miffed with China as he said he was considering several options on the consequences for Beijing over the virus. He said, “I can do a lot.”

Trump has been heaping blame on China for COVID-19 that has taken almost 60,000 lives in the United States. Trump sees it as a calculated action to put the U.S. economy into a deep recession and jeopardizing his chances in the coming presidential election.

Trump has been accused, again and again, of not taking necessary actions in advance against the spread of the virus. However, the president said in the interview that he believed China should have informed the world about the current pandemic much sooner than it did.

When asked about whether he was considering the use of tariffs or even debt write-offs for China, Trump didn’t offer a clear answer. He said, “There are many things I can do, and we’re looking for what happened.”

“China will do anything they can to have me lose this race,” he added. Trump said he believes in order to ease the pressure he has placed on China over trade and other issues, Beijing wants his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, to win the race.

Talking on the Chinese officials, he said, “They’re constantly using public relations to try to make it like they are innocent parties.”

Trump also mentioned that the trade deal that he signed with Chinese President Xi Jinping, which was aimed at reducing chronic U.S. trade deficits with China, had been “upset very badly” by the economic turmoil caused by the virus.
