About these records and sources

Search current and historical federal people plus the current state legislative roster. Every page keeps the public role, campaign identity, election result, vote, and disclosure evidence in their original source lanes.

9,108permanent public-person records
1,660distinct federal people
7,449state legislative records
6,403source-linked federal terms
IDENTITY RULE

Identifiers connect records. Names do not.

Federal terms join only on the corpus person_id; state roles join only on the Open States person UUID. FEC campaign records connect only through an exact FEC candidate ID. Names alone never merge people.

COVERAGE RULE

A public CV is only as complete as its source lanes.

The normalized federal term view begins with terms starting in 1923 and is not a complete history of every person who has ever held federal office. The state layer uses the current Open States People roster and retains absent earlier identities with their original source dates. A roster absence does not establish a departure date, vacancy or complete state-legislative career history.
