Current Election.org coverage
Official registry and current-cycle transaction adapter live.
OFFICIAL DATA LIVENorth Carolina current-cycle receipt and expenditure rows are connected from separate official State Board of Elections transaction-search CSV exports. Every export row reconciles to the official search count; the source exposes no stable transaction or amendment identity, so Election.org preserves the current search snapshot without claiming amendment normalization. Contributor and payee identities, addresses, employment fields, purposes, declarations, and transaction records are withheld. Audited totals, cash balances, federal filings, and entity resolution remain outside this adapter's stated scope.

The official receipt export contains names, street addresses, cities, states, ZIP codes, professions, employers, purposes, payment methods, and transaction rows without a reliable person-versus-organization classification. Election.org processes those fields only in memory, persists none of them, and publishes no contributor identities or transaction records. The source does not provide a reliable contributor entity classification, so no entity-code breakdown is published.
Exact four-decimal sum of North Carolina State Board of Elections expenditure-search rows dated 2025-01-01 through 2026-08-29. They are not total campaign spending, and source filing schedules remain separately exposed through the API.

The North Carolina State Board of Elections says its transaction search covers contributions received and expenditures made by registered committees, updates overnight each weeknight, and may lag reports imported during the current business day. This adapter uses separate official receipt and expenditure CSV exports so overlapping source labels are not misclassified.

How this adapter keeps source claims bounded
Official source adapterIdentify the current government filing/search system and its export or API contract.
Entity resolutionPreserve state IDs and connect candidates, committees, donors, and vendors without guessing identities.
Amendment rulesThe public transaction export does not expose a stable transaction identity, report identity, amendment flag, or supersession pointer. Election.org therefore preserves the current official search snapshot and does not claim amendment normalization or deduplication beyond the source result.
Fail-closed validationReject incomplete or structurally changed pulls before they can become public totals.
