About this system
Italy's Constitution connects direct election of both Houses, parliamentary election of the President, presidential appointment of the Prime Minister and ministers, confidence of both Houses, presidential reconsideration and dissolution powers, and equal shares of Constitutional Court appointments by the President, Parliament, and higher courts.
No invented arrows. A line is published only when an attached constitution or official institution explicitly supports the relationship. An institution source by itself does not justify an inferred line.

Parliament
The Chamber and Senate legislate, elect the President in joint session with regional delegates, and grant or withdraw confidence in the Government.
President of the Republic
Appoints the Prime Minister and ministers, promulgates laws, and may dissolve one or both Houses within constitutional limits.
Higher ordinary and administrative courts
Appoint one third of the Constitutional Court's fifteen judges under Article 135.
President of the Council of Ministers
Directs and bears responsibility for the Government's general policy and proposes ministers to the President.
Council of Ministers
The Prime Minister and ministers together form the Government, which must have the confidence of both Houses.
Constitutional Court
Rules on constitutional legitimacy of laws and measures having the force of law and on conflicts between powers.
