Why these records belong together
Federal terms join only on the corpus person_id; state roles join only on the Open States person UUID. FEC campaign records connect only through an exact FEC candidate ID. Names alone never merge people.

Sourced federal term history
The normalized federal term view begins with terms starting in 1923 and is not a complete history of every person who has ever held federal office.
Exact FEC ID connection
2026 campaign records
These campaign records connect through an FEC candidate ID already attached to the person's sourced federal term—not through a name match. A filing record does not prove ballot qualification.

The Clerk index does not expose a Bioguide or FEC person ID. These rows match the current House role by first name, last name, state, and district, so this connection is visibly weaker than the ID-based campaign and vote joins.

Connection is not causation—or judgment.
A term, campaign filing, vote, election result, disclosure, or stock transaction proves only what its cited source reports. Campaign contributions do not establish why a vote was cast; a securities transaction is not evidence of wrongdoing, intent, profit, or a conflict of interest.
