In the 2024 CPS, the gap between reported registration and reported voting was about 19.5 million people.
How to read it
Calculated as voting-age population multiplied by the difference between the Census reported-registration and reported-voting rates.
Important limits
- This is a difference between two survey estimates, not a count of named registered nonvoters.
- Self-reporting error and survey sampling error apply to both component estimates.
